Admitting Supervisor supervises the day-to-day patient admissions and access operations and staff responsible for required registration, and patient intake processes. Follows standardized processes for admission procedures to ensure accurate data collection, a positive patient experience, and effective coordination between clinical and administrative teams. Being an Admitting Supervisor monitors operational metrics to improve processes, increase efficiency, or correct problems. Prepares staff work schedules to ensure coverage and coordinate training and staff resources. Additionally, Admitting Supervisor follows all established policies and standards to preserve patient confidentiality, ensure data security and comply with all applicable regulations. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Summary:
Under general supervision, assists in the management of the admitting department Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC).
Responsibilities:
Provides leadership, direction, and guidance to assigned staff. Develops goals and priorities in conjunction with employees, and assigns tasks and projects. Develops staff skills and training plans. Counsels, trains, and coaches subordinate staff. Implements corrective actions and conducts performance evaluations. Maintains the confidentiality of patient records and procedures.
Ensures compliance with admissions policies and procedures; audits daily admitting registration for accuracy. Reviews and reconciles patient census reports; corrects and adjusts computer billing systems and daily census. Reviews and corrects computer generated daily reports.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Non-Supervisory- Five (5) years of hospital admitting experience. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or training may be substituted for experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
May be required to work outside the traditional work schedule. May be called out to work off-shift in emergency situations.
