Adult Education Teacher is responsible for teaching courses to adults in a classroom setting. Develops and implements appropriate course work, activities, and assessments for an adult class. Being an Adult Education Teacher evaluates and monitors student's performance, and helps students identify and pursue personal goals. Assesses and documents students' progress. Additionally, Adult Education Teacher typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Adult Education Teacher occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Under the direction of the Project Manager, to prepare and teach GED/HiSet preparation classes to GED/HiSet and Pre-GED adult students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develops and teaches adult students in language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and writing which prepare students for the GED/HiSet exams.
2. Provides and effective learning environment for every student through well prepared classes, relevant assignments, clear records of student progress, and support of academic achievement.
3. Monitors and assesses student performance and progress through lessons, assignments, and tests.
4. Manages classroom behavior by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
5. Maintains accurate and complete student attendance records and achievement progress.
