The Position
Agricultural Inspectors perform sampling and inspection of agricultural products at shipping point inspection facilities, and participate in pest control and noxious weed eradication; check and grade condition of fruits and vegetables, and assist plant pathologists and entomologists in the preparation of samples for analysis.

The Nevada Department of Agriculture, Division of Plant Health and Compliance, Plant Pathology and Seed Section is hiring for seasonal positions in Sparks, Nevada. Under the supervision of the seed program manager, the incumbent will perform crop inspections for plant diseases, collect plant and soil samples from fields, process samples in the labs, and assist the seed program manager in seed analysis and crop certifications. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of experience in agricultural sciences or related sciences performing agriculture duties; OR one year of experience as an Agricultural Inspector I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination or education and experience as described above.
The ability to travel 50% of time is required.
This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
