Aircraft Maintenance Manager manages engineering tasks involving changes or alterations to designs or specifications of aircraft parts, modules, or systems to ensure calibration and safety. Implements procedures to guide the routine inspection of aircraft components to facilitate optimal and reliable functionality. Being an Aircraft Maintenance Manager oversees the scheduling and timely completion of repairs and maintenance ensuring budget adherence. Reviews documented issues and reports to determine repairability and evaluates recommendations for replacements, repairs, or modifications to ensure conformance with safety standards and performance requirements. Additionally, Aircraft Maintenance Manager evaluates aircraft data and technical documents and researches new technologies to identify areas to improve practices or processes. Develops internal policies and guidelines to ensure compliance with federal aviation regulations and safety standards. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Aircraft Maintenance Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Aircraft Maintenance Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Responsibilities

    Position Summary

    The Maintenance Training Instructor is responsible for practically teaching training courses in an informal setting training such as, but not limited to, all aircraft systems and procedures, maintenance paperwork, stores department procedures including hazardous materials handling/shipping safety, test equipment, composite repair, run/taxi operations and other subjects to Aircraft Maintenance personnel.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Teach practical course material in both a formal classroom setting as well as the production floor. such as, but not limited to, all aircraft systems and procedures, maintenance paperwork, stores department procedures including hazardous materials handling/shipping safety, test equipment, composite repair, run/taxi operations and other subjects.
    • Teach recurrent, informal, test equipment and on-the-job training to company and vendor personnel.
    • Research, develop, implement and revise curriculum.
    • Conduct aircraft engine run and taxi training/testing utilizing live aircraft and flight simulators.
    • Assist with the maintenance, upkeep, security and auditing of training records.
    • Conduct outstation and vendor operation training as required across all stations.
    • Maintain proper completion and submission of training documentation.
    • Grant course completion and student management within the company LMS platform.
    • Promoting sound operational judgement and a safety-oriented attitude throughout the organization.
    • Responsible for the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    • In absence, the Supervisor of Maintenance Training will handle the delegation of duty.

    Position Specifics

    Qualifications

    Required

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification.
    • At least one year experience working on PSA's aircraft fleet.
    • In good company standing (STEP 1 violations considered).
    • Completion of PSA Indoctrination training and General Familiarization (training qualifications accepted).
    • Ability to navigate {knowledge of} applicable Manuals (GMM, AMM, FIM, Wiring diagrams etc).
    • Strong ability to utilize MS Office suite and maintenance software.
    • Run Taxi/Qualified (within 120 days) AMA if applicable.
    • Proficient in the delivery of on the job training, presentations, and reports.
    • Ability to travel as required.
    • Ability to work different shifts as required.
    • Good working knowledge of the Federal Aviation Regulations.
    • Thorough knowledge of PSA Manuals.
    • Run Taxi/Qualified (within 120 days) AMA if applicable.
    • Airworthiness Release Qualified (within 120 days).
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Detail oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-functional environment.
    • Working knowledge of test equipment, specialized tools and machinery.
    • Capable of using respirators and other personal protective equipment including eye and hearing protection.
    • Must possess or have ability to obtain a U.S. Passport or equivalent within 90 days of starting position.
    • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
    • Must be able to demonstrate authorization to work in the US.

    Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, facsimile machines and filing cabinets.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb up and down stairs; lift weight up to 25 lbs; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

    Security Clearance: All employees are required to pass the fingerprint-based criminal history records check (CHRC) per 49CFR1542.209 and pre-employment drug screen.
