Aircraft Maintenance Manager manages engineering tasks involving changes or alterations to designs or specifications of aircraft parts, modules, or systems to ensure calibration and safety. Being an Aircraft Maintenance Manager oversees the scheduling and timely completion of repairs and maintenance ensuring budget adherence. Reviews documented issues and reports to determine repairability and evaluates recommendations for replacements, repairs, or modifications to ensure conformance with safety standards and performance requirements. Additionally, Aircraft Maintenance Manager evaluates aircraft data and technical documents and researches new technologies to identify areas to improve practices or processes. Develops internal policies and guidelines to ensure compliance with federal aviation regulations and safety standards. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Aircraft Maintenance Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager.   • The Branch Manager reports directly to the Director Of Maintenance to plan, organize, and direct maintenance activities for the repair of aircraft and/or components and associated Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE). The Branch Manager will be responsible for management oversight of all fixed-wing aircraft support for the Very Important Person Special Air Mission (VIPSAM) fleet 19 C-32, C-40, and C-37A/B aircraft from the 89th Airlift Wing at Joint Base Andrews. The Aircraft Maintenance Branch Manager has overall responsibility for all Flightline, scheduled, and unscheduled daily maintenance operations. This Manager is responsible for maintenance planning and inspecting; coordinates with supply, operations, and other support activities to improve procedures and resolve problems; evaluates and directs processes used in inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and servicing aircraft and/or components; prioritizes maintenance and repair functions; supervises preparation of maintenance forms for aircraft repair, inspection, and parts replacement; directs aircraft crash recovery operations; evaluates aircraft maintenance activities; performs aircraft maintenance management functions; and ensures resources are projected to support the maintenance effort and are managed to optimize mission accomplishment.

    Branch Manager Minimum Qualifications: Extensive background in Air Force Organizational- or Intermediate-level maintenance and material support; Associate Degree with 12 years of relevant experience (or High School Degree and 15 years of aviation experience), including 6 years in a supervisory role, with responsibility for assigning program workloads and managing a CBA workforce (desired), and complying with established policies, procedures. Certified to downgrade Red Xs and sign ER/CRs.

    Desired additional aircraft maintenance experience: experience with similar USAF aircraft Mission Design Series (MDS) aircraft and mission profile as the 89th Airlift Wing (89 AW) Very Important Person Special Air Mission (VIPSAM) fleet is a major plus: VC-25A (Boeing 747), C-32A (Boeing 757) , C-40B (Boeing 737), C-37A (Gulfstream V), C-37B (Gulfstream 550), Air Mobility Command C-5 Galaxy, KC-10, KC-46A Pegasus, C-17 and KC-135, Air Combat Command E-3B/C/G, E-8C, E-9A, E-11A, EC-130H, B-52H
