Aircraft Maintenance Manager manages engineering tasks involving changes or alterations to designs or specifications of aircraft parts, modules, or systems to ensure calibration and safety. Implements procedures to guide the routine inspection of aircraft components to facilitate optimal and reliable functionality. Being an Aircraft Maintenance Manager oversees the scheduling and timely completion of repairs and maintenance ensuring budget adherence. Reviews documented issues and reports to determine repairability and evaluates recommendations for replacements, repairs, or modifications to ensure conformance with safety standards and performance requirements. Additionally, Aircraft Maintenance Manager evaluates aircraft data and technical documents and researches new technologies to identify areas to improve practices or processes. Develops internal policies and guidelines to ensure compliance with federal aviation regulations and safety standards. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Aircraft Maintenance Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Aircraft Maintenance Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Job Responsibilities:
- You will work on all aspects of the CRJ aircraft, ensuring safety and improving reliability.
- Document all maintenance and repair work performed, including the use of appropriate maintenance logs and records.
- Troubleshooting, installations and removals, and inspections on the CRJ aircraft
- Conduct safety inspections and functional checks after performing repairs
- Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a clean and orderly condition
- Diagnose and troubleshoot aircraft malfunctions using technical manuals and schematics
Education & Experience:
- Must have 2 years or more of recent aviation/aircraft experience
- Airframe & Powerplant License required
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must own tools (etched and shadowed) and maintain tool inventory
- Can obtain a Security Identification Display Area badge (SIDA), if applicable.
- Comfortable with shift work (12 hour shifts, overnights, and weekends)
- Detail oriented with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Must be have reliable transportation and be able to obtain housing/lodging
