Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor supervises the maintenance operations of aircraft airframes and engines to ensure safe and reliable performance. Oversees routine servicing and preventative maintenance to optimize the lifetime of aircraft airframe and engine components according to internal procedures, guidelines, and technical handbooks. Being an Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor evaluates technical requirements to determine the tradeoffs between the repair versus the replacement of components and the effect on cost and safety. Implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all federal aviation regulations, standards, and specifications. Additionally, Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor informs and trains aircraft mechanics on current information from manufacturers and regulatory bodies. Coordinates and schedules inspections and follow-up tasks to ensure timely completion. Requires a high school diploma. Requires FAA Airframe (A) and Powerplant (P) Mechanic License. Typically reports to a manager. Position Details :
Monitor all production areas to ensure proper functioning of equipment and machinery. Perform skilled maintenance activities including construction, welding, brazing, soldering, plumbing and hydraulics.
Adjust, repair, and replace electrical and electronic equipment. Participate in HAZMAT team to ensure preparedness for emergency situations.
Promote and encourage safety in all aspects of maintenance. Arrange for completion of required paperwork, such as payroll.
Attend meetings as scheduled.Requirements : The ideal candidate is a strong leader with prior maintenance leadership experience.
Background should be strong in electronics with a good understanding of mechanical / electrical principles. A degree is not required for this position but the ability to lead in a diverse environment is extremely important.
You need to be able to communicate effectively, both written and orally, to subordinates, superiors. Attention to detail and safety are extremely important for this position as well.
