Informs and trains aircraft mechanics on current information from manufacturers and regulatory bodies. Being an Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor ensures compliance with all FAA maintenance regulations and requirements. Coordinates inspections and follow-up tasks. Additionally, Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor evaluates vendor's pricing and service offerings to select the best repair outsourcing options. May require a bachelor's degree. Requires FAA Aircraft and Engine Mechanic License. Typically reports to a manager. The Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department.
