Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor supervises the maintenance operations of aircraft airframes and engines to ensure safe and reliable performance. Oversees routine servicing and preventative maintenance to optimize the lifetime of aircraft airframe and engine components according to internal procedures, guidelines, and technical handbooks. Being an Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor evaluates technical requirements to determine the tradeoffs between the repair versus the replacement of components and the effect on cost and safety. Implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all federal aviation regulations, standards, and specifications. Additionally, Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor informs and trains aircraft mechanics on current information from manufacturers and regulatory bodies. Coordinates and schedules inspections and follow-up tasks to ensure timely completion. Requires a high school diploma. Requires FAA Airframe (A) and Powerplant (P) Mechanic License. Typically reports to a manager. The Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Federal Aviation Administration Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic license and IA required
Working experience in Aviation Management or related field
Minimum five (5) years working in general aviation
Minimum three (3) years proven management experience which includes direct supervision
Ability to work unrestricted in the United States as a citizen or permanent resident
Absence of history of violations of Federal Aviation Administration regulations
