Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor supervises the maintenance operations of aircraft airframes and engines to ensure safe and reliable performance. Oversees routine servicing and preventative maintenance to optimize the lifetime of aircraft airframe and engine components according to internal procedures, guidelines, and technical handbooks. Being an Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor evaluates technical requirements to determine the tradeoffs between the repair versus the replacement of components and the effect on cost and safety. Implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all federal aviation regulations, standards, and specifications. Additionally, Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor informs and trains aircraft mechanics on current information from manufacturers and regulatory bodies. Coordinates and schedules inspections and follow-up tasks to ensure timely completion. Requires a high school diploma. Requires FAA Airframe (A) and Powerplant (P) Mechanic License. Typically reports to a manager. The Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Supervises, directs and trains assigned maintenance personnel.  Directs and controls multiple maintenance projects.

    Ensures all phases of equipment and facility maintenance are performed effectively.

    Identify and solve any and all problems with equipment and facility.

    Repair/fix machinery to provide maximum production up time.

     

    Responsibilities

  • Ensures all phases of equipment / facility maintenance are being performed effectively.
  • Identifies and solves any problems with equipment, facility, or personnel.
  • Monitors maintenance log and coordinates scheduled preventative maintenance.
  • Coordinates and schedules necessary equipment repairs and installs.
  • Maintains open communication with fabrication and warehouse to ensure project schedules are met.
  • Designs electrical component builds, changes, and installs.
  • Produces prints and drawings as required.
  • Trains new hires as well as long-term employees on maintenance team
  • Complies with and enforces all company policies and procedures.
  • Ensures consistent and maximum throughput while maintaining quality.
  • Ensures that product loss and scrap are kept to a minimum.
  • Maintains supply inventories and notifies purchasing when items need to be re-stocked.
  • Keeps plant maintenance area in ‘tour-ready’ condition at all times.
  • Qualifications

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    High School Diploma or G.E.D.

     

    5-10 years of experience in facility and equipment maintenance and design; or any combination of education, training, and experience which provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.

     

    KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • Manufacturing and building systems, machines and equipment
  • Must be able to read and interpret documents such as: drawings, prints, diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Mechanical and electrical systems and machine design
  •  

     

    SKILL IN:

  • Management of team personnel
  • Computer Data entry.
  • Power and Electrical install / maintenance
  • Maintenance Tools – Including but not limited to welder, mill, press, shear, drills, lathe, and hand tools.                      
  • Use of measuring devices such as: caliper and micrometer.
  • Operating a forklift.
  •
