Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor supervises the maintenance operations of aircraft airframes and engines to ensure safe and reliable performance. Oversees routine servicing and preventative maintenance to optimize the lifetime of aircraft airframe and engine components according to internal procedures, guidelines, and technical handbooks. Being an Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor evaluates technical requirements to determine the tradeoffs between the repair versus the replacement of components and the effect on cost and safety. Implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all federal aviation regulations, standards, and specifications. Additionally, Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor informs and trains aircraft mechanics on current information from manufacturers and regulatory bodies. Coordinates and schedules inspections and follow-up tasks to ensure timely completion. Requires a high school diploma. Requires FAA Airframe (A) and Powerplant (P) Mechanic License. Typically reports to a manager. · Direct daily and long-term activities for the maintenance functions at the center.
ü Prepare work schedules.
ü Supervise activities of work team to assure that goals are met.
ü As part of the center budget process, prepare and administer annual budget for maintenance.

· Plan, develop and schedule preventive maintenance for the center.
ü Establish standards for preventive maintenance and cleaning
ü Train employees to assure proper implementation of standards
ü Provide all tools necessary to effectively administer program.

· Administer contracts for outsourcing of maintenance functions for those activities that cannot be accomplished using internal resources.

· Evaluate staffing needs in maintenance department.
ü Interview, hire, counsel, evaluate, and discipline employees.
· Monitor inventory of supplies to assure that adequate amounts are kept on hand to meet center demands.
ü Assure that inventories of supplies are conducted regularly.
ü Track and adjust inventory levels as necessary to meet center needs.
· Participate and contribute as a member or leader of various committees, such as safety, hazardous materials, etc.
· Maintain records of equipment and building repairs and expenses to predict the useful life of equipment and building and future expenses to repair and/or replace.
· Perform other related activities as assigned or requested.
