Aircraft Prep Technician

  • The Aircraft Prep Technician will support the day-to-day operations for the professional appearance and stocking of inventory on aircraft that are brought to the company for service. This important position will follow the specifications of the contract to ensure all aircraft are ready for crew members and passengers. The Aircraft Prep Technician must maintain a high level of detail, exhibit strong oral and written communication skills, and be focused on delivering exemplary customer service.

    Responsibilities:

    • Clean and polish exterior and interior of aircraft.
    • Clean and polish wood/metal/hardware/fabrics and condition leather as required.
    • Sanitize galley and lavatory surfaces.
    • Restock aircraft inventory as directed/required.
    • Transport supplies to and from aircraft.
    • Perform pre and post inventory counts of all supplies.
    • Maintain inventory stock rooms as directed/required.
    • Clean interior in accordance with contract specifications.
    • Organize and maintain company vehicles, shops, lockers, and equipment.
    • Ensure proper usage of tools and personal protection equipment.
    • Maintain a professional appearance according to company guidelines.
    • Work independently and take initiative to accomplish tasks with minimal supervision and/or    direction.
    • Follow all established guidelines for quality and safety.
    • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
    • Conduct other duties as assigned but not specifically mentioned herein.

    Qualifications & Requirements:

    • Availability to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays.
    • Must be able to stay late or report early to meet the demands of aircraft schedules.
    • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
    • Ability to pass a Pulmonary Function Test to obtain respirator certificate as required.
    • Maintain a keen sense of vision and attention to small details to identify and rectify marks, smudges, dirt, etc.
    • Ability to use tools, equipment, and materials in the aircraft prep process.
    • Frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, grasp with hands, climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl and/or maintain balance.
    • Must be able to work in confined spaces.
    • Must be able to work on elevated platforms (up to 40 ft in the air) using fall protection safety gear if needed.
    • Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, and scissor lift equipment.
    • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
    • Must be able to perform duties in all weather conditions and environments.
    • Must be willing to take precautions and pay close attention to safety considerations to prevent incidents or accidents while on the job.
    • Must successfully pass all pre-employment checks and drug tests, as required.
    • Must be 18 years of age or older.

    • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal colleagues, aircraft crew members, and external customers.
    • Must demonstrate a willingness to work in a team environment with the ability to be flexible and understanding so that company goals can be achieved.

    • Must be able to represent the company in a manner that demonstrates the highest level of service with a responsive approach and positive attitude.
    • Must display characteristics of professionalism and organization.

    Education & Experience:

    • High school diploma / GED
    • Prior experience in the field is preferred
