Objective

Assist in the Service and maintenance of all Company owned passenger and Commercial vehicles to ensure that they are working properly and safely. Receives supervision from the Fleet Mgr. to ensure workflow is maintained and time lined.

Responsibilities/Expectations

• Self-motivated that can work in a Team Environment as well as independently to accomplish company goals.
• This Individual must possess the desire and ability to learn skills such as Liftgates, Trailer Doors, Trailer Brakes and all other duties needed to support the Team.
• Perform service on all vehicles/trucks and trailers as required and diagnose or troubleshoot vehicles without any difficulties.
• Maintain and keep shop clean and in an orderly manner while working each day.
• Check daily Driver Vehicle Inspection Report reports through the fleet management system (Fleetio)for any needed repairs from the morning, Repair if needed. Also check the afternoon DVIR issues for any necessary repairs prior to my leaving in the evening.
• Stock needed vehicle supplies, oil, coolant, washer fluid and cleaning supplies at the fuel area, and empty trash cans into the dumpster.
• Swap tractors and trailers as needed to ensure all route vehicles are ready for next day deliveries.
• Compile receipts and workorder paperwork performed during my shift each day.
• Close & secure Fleet Garage every evening Monday Friday. 7:30 am to 5:00 pm

Qualifications

Position Requirements

• Reliable transportation to and from work while maintaining a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. (Class A CDL preferred)
• Ability to travel using provided service truck to our Tallahassee location once a month with an overnight stay.
• Rotate every other weekend emergency on call service for company vehicle issues using service truck.
• Maintain appropriate dress (uniform) and personal appearance standards (dress policy).

• Able to pass drug and background check.
• Able to lift, bend, stoop, climb and reach.
• Ability to lift 50-100lbs.
• Ability to work Holidays if needed.

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• ASE Certified Mechanic
