Airframe and Engine Mechanic, Sr. maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots aircraft components to ensure safe and reliable performance. Conducts routine servicing to optimize the lifetime of aircraft airframe and engine components according to internal procedures, guidelines, and technical handbooks. Being an Airframe and Engine Mechanic, Sr. utilizes a variety of tools and equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues and determine malfunctioning parts of aircraft engines and assemblies. Follows company protocols to maintain safety, cleanliness, and organization within the hangar or workshop. Additionally, Airframe and Engine Mechanic, Sr. recommends part changes or adjustments to ensure compliance with all federal aviation regulations, standards, and specifications. Maintains accurate records of services and procedures performed and documents and reports issues, concerns, and unusual wear or damage of parts. Requires a high school diploma. Requires FAA Airframe (A) and Powerplant (P) Mechanic License. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Airframe and Engine Mechanic, Sr. works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.     THE OPPORTUNITY 

    We are seeking experienced Engine Service Technicians to join our Bossier City, Louisiana operations.

     
    YEARLY POTENTIAL

    $60,000 - $120,000 yearly 

    The yearly range indicated is representative of the hourly rate, including typical overtime. This range is based on a technician’s experience, skills, education and training. For technicians, overtime is typically calculated on a daily basis after 8 hours worked.


    KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Expert knowledge of Caterpillar natural gas engines ranging from G3300 - G3600, electrical systems, controls, etc.
    • Understanding full functionality of Adem III & Adem IV controls
    • Advanced knowledge of mechanical and electrical failure analysis
    • Fully understand the performance of Caterpillar Gas Compression engines

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • Maintain a safe and well-organized work environment with respect to co-workers and customers
    • Fill out a detailed JSA that follows Louisiana Cat standards
    • Perform all essential duties requested by Supervisor
    • Demonstrate expert troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical issues
    • Perform any scheduled or unscheduled maintenance without any technical assistance
    • Create a detailed report of initial and final conclusions
    • Provide professional customer service and effectively communicate issues or findings to customer
    • Lead a team performing Major Maintenance or Overhauls in the field
    • Tune & adjust engine for proper emissions regulations and fuel efficiency
    • Efficiently utilize Cat SIS WEB & ET
    • Install Factory Passwords and Flash Files
    • Perform Engine Alignment

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
    • Ability to occasionally lift 50 pounds from floor to chest.
    • Ability to reach and use the arms within a full range of motion in order to retrieve stocked parts.
    • Ability to endure prolonged stooping, kneeling, crouching and squatting while performing mechanical operations.
    • Must be able to exert push/pull forces with the arms in order to use various wrenches and tools.
    • Must be able to endure prolonged forward and overhead arm positions while performing mechanical operations.
    • Must be able to use the hands to grasp hand tools and parts.
    • Must have the ability to climb onto and operate equipment.
    • Must have the ability to operate and maintain a field service vehicle with GVW of less than 26,000 lbs.
