- Job Title: Merchandise Allocation Analyst Reports to: Manager of Merchandise Allocation _____________________________________________________________________________ Primary Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for managing the timely allocation of Closeouts, Never-Outs, In and Outs, and Reverse Logistics product to the stores, ensuring that sales plans are achieved, and inventory utilization is maximized, for current and new stores. Investigate and respond to all allocation requests and inquiries, escalating any concerns to the Manager of Merchandise Allocation. Develop product knowledge to be Division expert to review product needs, timing, and opportunities. Review distribution center available inventory to ensure merchandise is available and flowing to the sores. Actively manages the business by identifying opportunities to exploit sales and margin opportunities. Partners with buyers and merchandise planner to develop execution tactics. Promotes the development of the allocation department through the active use of tools, the sharing of best practices and providing suggestions for improvement. Prepare, update and distribute key daily/weekly reports. Build and develop an intimate knowledge of product and how this is related with consumer demands. Build and maintain effective working relationship with key partners across the business, with particular emphasis on Planning, Retail, Analytics, Marketing and Supply chain teams. Review effectiveness of allocation strategies and results through review of reporting, analytics and store visits. Provide insight and opportunities on improving assortment through modifying allocation approach/rules. Identify opportunities to enhance systems and processes to optimize allocation results. Develop knowledge of cross training within the department to assist the team as workload requires. Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager or Merchandise Allocation Job Specifications and Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree required. Minimum of one year of Merchandise Allocation experience required. Demonstrated strong retail math skills and strong analytical skills required. Solid understanding and ability to use PowerBI Demonstrated business development skills and sound judgment. Strong organizational skills required. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, required. Strong interpersonal skills and leadership skills required. System savvy with spreadsheet, word processing, and Blue Yonder or similar software Capable of learning new processes and tools quickly.
