Summary:
The Assistant Director of Student Affairs serves as the main point person on student affairs–related items. The Assistant Director will work in collaboration with the Student Affairs staff to identify campus resources and support students as needed. The Assistant Director will assist with other Student Affairs functions including reviewing confidential student records, student event programming, student success initiatives, and student conduct resolutions.
- This position is exempt.
- This position reports to the Executive Director of Student Affairs.
- The starting salary for this position is $65,000 depending on experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as a point person on shared student affairs-related customer service channels, including daily foot traffic, email, and incoming phone inquiries on the Florida Campus:
- Answer student inquiries
- Assist Associate Director of Student Affairs with email inquiries.
- Assist with the collection of student documentation required for matriculation to Burrell College
- Schedule confidential student appointments in collaboration with the Executive Director of Student Affairs
- Assist the Executive Director of Student Affairs in investigation of student discipline issues, as needed.
- Assist in the review of confidential student records with a high level of attention to detail:
- Review students’ immunizations to ensure they are current and up-to-date
- Review student’s health insurance
- Review medical evaluations for accommodations.
- Review additional documentation required for matriculation and continued enrollment at Burrell College
- Review class excusals
- Assist the Executive Director of Student Affairs in the review of confidential student requests, including but not limited to: class excusals, grievance reports, incident reports, and investigations.
- Advise students on a variety of matters including college policies and procedures, services related to counseling and wellness, available resources, etc.
- Work in collaboration with the Executive Director of Student Affairs to develop informative material relating to student services including, but not limited to: adequate mental health options, counseling, educational support, housing, meal plans, fitness, community service opportunities, general wellness, and health.
- Assist in the organization and maintenance of Student Government (SGA) and student organization charters.
- Assist with Student Government (SGA) and student organization event logistics.
- Assist in organizing large campus events including Orientation Week, White Coat Ceremony, Match Day, and Commencement.
- Maintain a high profile in the community to use all occasions as a chance to promote the college.
- Work with students to identify and support the outreach and service project in the community.
- Provide information sessions to matriculated and committed students to Burrell College and occasionally to other constituents as appropriate.
- The Assistant Director of Student Affairs is responsible in assisting the Office of Student Affairs in all Student Affairs functions as needed.
- Assist in developing programs and other activities/services necessary for students.
- Keep up to date on best practices in the industry and make recommendations to the Executive Director of Student Affairs and the Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs.
- Serve as an advocate for students regarding student-related concerns.
- Ensure proper policies and procedures are followed.
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Preferences:
- Master's degree
- Experience with CRM or data management systems.
- Experience working with students in a student affairs-related environment.
Note: Applicants must currently be authorized to lawfully work in the United States on a full-time basis.
