    The Director of Alumni Relations directs and leads the alumni relations program by developing, implementing
    and evaluating programs designed to foster effective communications, increase support for the College and
    encourage involvement of alumni in the life of the College. The position builds loyalty and affinity by
    networking and managing the participation of alumni through the execution of distinguished services and
    events.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Plans, designs, implements and evaluates alumni programs and projects that engage alumni in strengthening relationships and providing tangible benefits to alumni, the institution, and current students including but not limited to, chapters and clubs, cultivation events, reunions, professional education and other special events.
    • Identifies and selects potential partners for the College. Identify major gift prospects from alumni programming through discovery and networking; carry a portfolio of alumni donors and work on Campaign team.
    • Designs and oversees the membership program for the Alumni Network, including securing affinity and sponsorship partners with annual revenue goals.
    • Serves as an ambassador and advocate for the College to the alumni population and the greater community by attending community and corporate events.
    • Oversee the planning and execution of all alumni activities to enhance alumni engagement and cultivate connections that lead to philanthropic support.
    • Develops and integrates relationships and programs with campus partners.
    • Develop and maintain cooperative and collaborative relationships and programs with college units, including Career Services, Athletics, Student Affairs and other departments.
    • Develops communication strategies and manages all alumni communications to ensure objectives for alumni relations programs are met. Engage alumni in the life of the College through consistent and positive communication using electronic, print, and social media, exceptional customer service, and meaningful opportunities for volunteerism, service, personal and professional development, and events and programs.
    • Prepares and creates an annual budget for alumni programs and works with the Senior VP of Institutional Advancement to secure funding partners.
    • Provide vision, leadership, and oversight to the Alumni Advisory Board including coordinating meetings, setting agendas and monitoring by laws and other related activities.
    • Oversee the selection and distribution of alumni association awards that recognize outstanding alumni achievements. Coordinates with selectees for their participation in recognition ceremonies
    • Provides leadership for the annual Distinguished Alumni & Hall of Fame Awards Programs to ensure that the events reflect positively on the College.
    • Supervises outside vendors and alumni relations staff.
    • Manages relationships with existing alumni.
    • Plans and supervises all related activities and events.
    • Participates in the Foundation leadership team and works on strategic issues to advance the mission of the Foundation and the College
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

    • Knowledge and understanding of college organization, goals and objectives, and policies and
    • procedures
    • Knowledge of current and innovative alumni programming strategies used in the industry
    • Ability to maintain a high level of poise and professionalism in all circumstances
    • The individual must possess strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, as well as excellent presentation and written communications skills.
    • Knowledge of the communications industry is required.
    • Previous experience in a higher education setting is desirable.
    • Ability to work with competing priorities and deadlines and to problem-solve creatively is essential Possess proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Raiser’s Edge and strong project management and
    • organizational skills
    • Excellent organizational skills, presentation skills and communication skills (both oral and written)
    • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide
    • range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community
    • Ability to take primary responsibility for diverse number of projects and to complete them in a timely
    • manner with limited supervision
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from top management, groups of
    • managers, clients, customers and the general public
    • Ability to identify strategic opportunities and develop effective programs to advance departmental and
    • institutional objectives
    • Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise including using
    • technology and social media to advance the College mission
    • Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with user communities of diverse.

    Minimum Qualifications & Education

    • Master's degree and four (4) years of relevant experience.
