Ambulatory Services Director directs the staff and programs of the ambulatory services department. Oversees, administers, and coordinates all activities and operations of the ambulatory services for the health care facility, including outpatient clinics, outpatient surgery, and urgent care centers. Being an Ambulatory Services Director develops and introduces approved standards and guidelines for ambulatory services and programs. Maintains working relationships with community agencies. Additionally, Ambulatory Services Director ensures non-emergency care clinics operate within budget and in accordance with performance standards. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Ambulatory Services Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Duties:
    • Is oriented to surgical facility.
    • Assists with turning over operating rooms between cases.
    • Cleans rooms between cases (e.g., dusts shelves and countertops, removes linens and places in bag for daily pickup, removes all garbage from operating room, endoscopy suites, recovery room and same day surgery unit.)
    • Knows location of equipment and supplies.
    • Keeps scrub sinks clean and free of debris.
    • Stocks scrub brushes, antimicrobial handwashing solution, and surgical supplies, Toilet tissue and paper towels.
    • Keeps caps, masks, and shoe covers stocked.
    • Distributes clean linen and scrubs to all appropriate areas.
    • Moves and arranges furniture in a neat and tidy fashion.
    • Performs general delivery service for the facility and runs errands as needed.
    • Keeps kitchen clean.
    • Keeps hallway free of clutter.
    • Checks/empties sharps containers throughout facility.
    • Maintains janitor’s closet – clean and orderly.
    • Performs light maintenance work/jobs as assigned.

    Requirements: 
    • Required 1. High school diploma or GED certificate 2. Strong ethical and moral character references.
    • Preferred 1. Patient care technician experience 2. ASC experience.
