This position may be filled as:
- DETAIL: The selected employee may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.
- PROBATIONAL APPOINTMENT: Current permanent status classified State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment, if selected.
- TEMPORARY JOB APPOINTMENT: This position may be filled by temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.

Exams and License Requirements
- No Civil Service Test Score is required in order to be considered for this vacancy.
- Any degree, certificate, special license, or DD-214 must be verified by official documentation prior to hire.

SALARY DEPENDENDS ON LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE
- As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a PROCUREMENT ANALYST 1, 2, or 3 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s).
- The maximum salary for the PROCUREMENT ANALYST 3 is $$80,267 .00 annually.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A baccalaureate degree.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
Six years of full-time work experience in any field may be substituted for the required baccalaureate degree.
Candidates without a baccalaureate degree may combine work experience and college credit to substitute for the baccalaureate degree as follows:
A maximum of 120 semester hours may be combined with experience to substitute for the baccalaureate degree.
30 to 59 semester hours credit will substitute for one year of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
60 to 89 semester hours credit will substitute for two years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
90 to 119 semester hours credit will substitute for three years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
120 or more semester hours credit will substitute for four years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
College credit earned without obtaining a baccalaureate degree may be substituted for a maximum of four years full-time work experience towards the baccalaureate degree. Candidates with 120 or more semester hours of credit, but without a degree, must also have at least two years of full-time work experience to substitute for the baccalaureate degree.
NOTE:
Any college hours or degree must be from an accredited college or university.
FUNCTION OF WORK:
To procure goods and/or services that are outside of the scope of the Office of State Procurement.
LEVEL OF WORK:
Entry.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Direct from a Procurement Supervisor or Procurement Manager. Other reporting relationships may be approved by State Civil Service.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
None.
LOCATION OF WORK:
May be used by all state agencies with procurement functions that are outside of the scope of the Office of State Procurement.
JOB DISTINCTIONS:
Differs from Procurement Analyst 2 by the absence of experienced-level professional procurement duties. EXAMPLES BELOW ARE A BRIEF SAMPLE OF COMMON DUTIES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS JOB TITLE. NOT ALL POSSIBLE TASKS ARE INCLUDED.
Learns to apply the Procurement Code in order to procure goods and/or services for the agency.
Under close supervision, coordinates proper solicitation, evaluation of bids, and vendor selection.
Assists in correspondence with vendors and agency staff regarding contract terms, deliveries, quality and order changes.
Follows up on delivery, receipt and quality of materials.
Maintains records of procurement transactions and qualified vendors.
May provide guidance to agency personnel on specification development in order to meet procurement standards.
