We provide full-service engineering, procurement and construction management services to industrial process manufacturers that operate in pulp & paper, chemical, consumer product and food & beverage market. We are in a significant growth mode and it’s an exciting time to be joining our business!WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:We are looking for a Procurement Specialist to assist and lead the following efforts:
- Supplier identification includes leveraging existing supplier relationships.
- Managing the Request for Bid process (i.e., scope of work generation, bid meetings, site visits, etc.) for parts, equipment, and services.
- Managing supplier commercial negotiations (i.e., Performance Guarantees, Warranties, Price, Delivery, Value-Add, etc.).
- Preparing and presenting bid analysis for various scopes of work.
- Facilitating supplier legal negotiations with internal counsel and outside counsel.
- Attending regular update project meetings.
- Ensuring execution of Performance Guarantees/warranty commitments as needed.
- Maintain and update the procurement tracking spreadsheet.
- Track progress and request updates on resources pending delivery.
- Travel to any project sites and manufacturers for material verification and factory acceptance testing.
- Verify invoices are correct for processing (i.e. Meet project milestones, rates, and terms)
YOUR IDEAL BACKGROUND:The successful candidate should have an entrepreneurial spirit, and be excited by opportunities to add value to our clients with Jedson’s engineering expertise. Strong communication skills, collaboration and courage to challenge the status quo are cornerstones of the Jedson Edge.- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of six years of purchasing experience with a general level of knowledge and experience in the development of sourcing strategies, contracts, negotiation tactics and team development. A general level of understanding of the strategic sourcing processes preferred.
- Broad understanding of operational needs in a heavy manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lead sourcing project efforts.
- Ability to communicate with and work within a project team.
- Basic knowledge of accounting, lean production, transportation and computer systems.
- Basic understanding of contract law as they apply to negotiating contracts.
