Anesthesia Technician assists Anesthesiologist by setting-up equipment and preparing medications. Orders, stocks, tests, and maintains anesthesia supplies, medications, and equipment. Being an Anesthesia Technician washes and sterilizes re-usable equipment and reports malfunctioning equipment to appropriate personnel. Performs safety checks on anesthesia equipment and assists the Anesthesiologist as needed. Additionally, Anesthesia Technician may also be required to complete Anesthesia Technician trainee program. May require an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Anesthesia Technician works under moderate supervision. Job Summary |
Under the supervision of licensed personnel, provides assistance to the Anesthesiologist during the preoperative period according to the Shannon Medical Center Standards of Care, policies and procedures. The Anesthesia Aide has both team member and patient care responsibilities that require judgments, accountability and follow through. Within these responsibilities, accepting delegation, communicating effectively and confidentiality, recording accurate information, demonstrating flexibility and maintaining a safe environment by completing unit related services are critical to issues in this position.
