POSITION OBJECTIVES AND PURPOSE :
As an Animal Care Specialist, you will find your home with a breeding, farrowing or wean-finish team! Full-time and part-time positions available, as well as weekend rotation!
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Tasks are dependent upon the department, but may include :
- Provide care for animals, ensuring they have access to food, water and a comfortable environment
- Treat and vaccinate animals
- Maintain accurate documentation
- Assist in power washing
- Promote a safe work environment
- Maintain PQA certification status (provided on the job)
- Follow all SFI bio-security policies and procedures
- Exhibit strong teamwork, including working to achieve team goals, embracing new technologies, working on new projects, etc.
- Be capable of lifting a minimum of 50 lbs. with reasonable accommodation
Additional Duties
- Demonstrate Schwartz Farms' values of integrity, respect, excellence and adaptability
- Advocate and engage in SFI's animal welfare policy, including promoting animal well-being, remedying circumstances which impede animal care, and properly reporting instances of mistreatment or abuse
- Maintain and promote a safe working environment
