Weiser Veterinary Clinic is a busy 6 doctor mixed animal practice serving a large territory of clients. We have an incredible team and are seeking an individual who will strive to meet the standards of service and care that we provide. While loving four legged creatures is a plus, self motivators are our favorite!
We are currently looking to fill one position that will cross train as a Receptionist and Animal Care Attendant.
Schedule is 4 days per week, 10 hour shifts (8:00am-6:00pm) with rotating days off. Some weekend shifts required.
Minimum requirements:
-High School degree or equivalent
-Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently
-Basic computer literacy including typing and navigating software
Essential Qualifications:
-Experience in veterinary field preferred but not required
-Secondary language skills desired
-Must be able to calmly and confidently work with animals including animals in distress and/or pain who may attempt to resist restraint, scratch or bite
-Must be able to perform physical duties including consistent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50lbs
-Must be able to work in fast paced conditions that at times can be loud and/or distracting
General Receptionist duties consist of but are not limited to the following:
-Opening/Closing
-Greeting clients & patients
-Creating and maintaining electronic files and records
-Receive and direct calls
-Schedule and confirm appointments
-Ensure that all patients are on a leash or in a carrier while in clinic
-Assist in triaging patients via phone or in clinic to assess level of emergency and/or quarantine protocols
-Process payments
-Maintain reception and lobby area
-Attend staff meetings and trainings
General Animal Care Attendant duties consist of but are not limited to the following:
-Safely and humanely handle all patients that are in clinic for hospitalization or boarding
-Feed, water and medicate patients in clinic as needed or as scheduled per instruction
-Safely take canine patients to yard for playtime/exercise
-Maintain clean and orderly kennel area including outside yard
-Daily clinic laundry and chores
-Accurately enter records in patient chart multiple times per shift
-Effective communication with staff or Dr's regarding patient care
-Complete varying tasks as assigned by ACA checklist
-Assist other support staff as needed
-Ability to learn and train to perform tasks safely and accurately
-Ability to learn and familiarize with WVC standards of care regarding topics such as spay/neuter, parasite control, vaccine protocols and various other concerns
-Intake and discharge boarding patients
