Annuities Director (New Business) directs the development of new accounts and business relationships through sales, marketing, and referrals. Reviews applications and contracts and ensures that all transactions comply with state and federal regulations.     • Marketing: Create and develop executable programs, materials, and processes that are driven by market and business insights; Measure and evaluate marketing strategy implementation against intended results.

    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Marketing: Advise and define the go-to-market strategy for the Integrated Retail Team, including but not limited to, product and service portfolio strategy, pricing strategy, and channel management strategy, and promotions strategy; Create and develop executable programs, materials, and processes that are driven by market and business insights; Measure and evaluate marketing strategy implementation against intended results.
    • Business Development: Evaluate performance to determine if organizational capabilities are competitive and relevant with regard to customer and competitor trends in the industry; Customize the go-to-market strategy for strategic clients and segments; Oversee and support the launch of new marketing programs and processes at the initial point of customer interface, including the generation of new business leads.

    Direct Reports- This position does not have supervisory responsibilities for direct reports

    Indirect Reports- Does not have direct reports, but may delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

    Field of Study/Area of Experience:  Marketing and/or Business Development

    • 8 years of management/leadership experience in a retail marketing and business development role
    • Experience working in a fast paced, dynamic business environment
    • Experience in matrix management of indirect reports

    • Professional level influencing skills – ability to manage internal and external boundaries, set expectations, and build alignment at varying management levels/client interface
    • Professional level insight skills – ability to identify and develop robust data on internal and external operations (especially regarding customer expectations and alternatives) and transform that data into decisions that balance risk with reward

    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Empathy/understanding of the impact of marketing and business development initiatives on field associates
    • Technically proficient in marketing and business development tools, MS Office and data reporting systems.

    Office / Sedentary RequirementsIncumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.  Work is performed primarily in an office environment.
