Job Summary:
The Accounts Payable Specialist will work directly with the Accounts Payable Manager to ensure all invoices are processed timely and accurately. They will also provide administrative support to the other areas of the accounting department as needed,
Responsibilities:
- Provide support to all accounts payable processes as needed.
- Process, verify, and pay vendor invoices.
- Manage vendor accounts by reviewing and ensuring their profile data, financial terms, invoicing, payment status, and account statements are accurate and complete.
- Actively communicate with customers, vendors, and project managers to ensure customer and vendor account accuracy and resolve discrepancies as needed.
- Monitor the AP inbox. Work through and respond to inquiries and resolve questions/issues
- Process, record, audit, and maintain precise records of all outgoing vendor payments.
- Manage, research, coordinate and file corporate federal, state, and local government tax compliance filing requirements.
- Provide support with maintaining general ledger accounts and their associated monthly transactions.
- Provide support with the period-end accounting close, account reconciliations, and variance analysis process.
- Provide support with bank account reconciliations as needed.
- Provide support with managing corporate lease accounts, schedules, and reconciliations.
- Provide support with the review of P&L for proper coding of expenses, by department and multiple markets.
- Provide support to external auditors by providing research, account information, and documentation required to perform annual audits.
- Provide support to Accounts Receivable as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Eagerness to advance in an accounting career.
- Exposure to ERP systems.
- Construction or telecom industry experience a plus.
- Ability to have a good demeanor with different personalities.
- Ability to correctly prepare and file tax reports.
- Strong Excel and analytical skills preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Strong time management skills and works well under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, multi-tasking, and attention to detail.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
- 3 years of experience working in an accounting role.
