    Position Overview:

    Programmer will develop coordinate measurement machine (CMM) programs and inspection techniques to drawing or specification requirements using a CMM and/or handheld metrology tools for parts used in aerospace cargo systems.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Develop inspection strategy for high precision aerospace components to ensure compliance with engineering requirements.
    • Create and modify CMM off-line program utilizing Siemens NX and/or CMM Manager.
    • Create part/program setup instruction and supporting documentation to adequately instruct inspection personnel on the loading and execution of automated inspection programs.
    • Assist Operations and Inspection for sustaining programs.
    • Manage completion of CMM programming projects for new product introduction
    • Troubleshoot programming errors and proof CMM programs.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
    • Proficient reading and interpreting of blueprints.
    • Proficient with GD&T ASME Y14.5 (1994, 2009, and 2018) requirements.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with manufacturing engineering, precision inspection personnel and shop floor employees.
    • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Associate degree in Machining Technology (or equivalent)
    • 5 years of relevant experience such as machinist, CMM inspection, or CAD/CAM/CNC programming.
    • Knowledge and experience with measurement and inspection techniques.
    • Knowledge of Siemens NX (or similar CAD software).

    The salary range for this role is 44,000 USD - 102,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
