Applications Programming Manager manages teams and implements policies and procedures related to the design, analysis, testing, coding, and implementation of applications. Enhances operations by establishing metrics, analyzing processes, and implementing standard methodologies, tools, and best practices to ensure high-quality deliverables. Being an Applications Programming Manager reviews development proposals, projects, timelines, resources, and costs. Leads feedback processes for peer reviews, code reviews, and design reviews. Additionally, Applications Programming Manager establishes a performance culture by incorporating individual and team coaching and mentoring to achieve excellence. May manage outsourcing budgets, vendors, or off-shore resources. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Applications Programming Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Applications Programming Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     JOB SUMMARY: Management of Program Board programs and initiatives. Coordinate RSO Homecoming events and Family Weekend. Coordinate marketing and promotions for the Student Life Office. Additionally, assisting with program data and assessment documentation.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


    • Advise SVSU Program Board by attending executive board meetings, processing. contracts, and managing the program budget.
    • Coordinate promotion of Student Life programs i.e. weekly Event Blast, Instagram, and promotional materials.
    • Conduct informational surveys and assessments.
    • Accurately and efficiently perform data entry utilizing swipe technology.
    • Assist in the planning, policy development, and management of the Student Life Center.
    • Manage all aspects of the Program Board programing serving as advisor to the student advisory committee.
    • Provide oversight and management of Student Life Homecoming and Family Weekend programing.
    • Assist in the planning and facilitation of campus activities, including campus traditions such as orientation programs, Open House, etc.
    • Support all efforts associated with the Office of Student Life’s mission/vision.
    • Assist with Student Life and Student Affairs promotion and marketing initiatives.
    • Assist in the coordination of university programs and special events.
    • Serve on departmental, division, and institutional committees as directed.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    SUPERVISION RECEIVED


    General supervision is received from the Associate Dean of Student Life.

    SUPERVISION EXERCISED:


    Functional supervision is exercised over the Office of Student Life Center student employees.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICAITONS


    • Bachelor’s degree
    • 1-2 years working experience in higher education or related non-profit fields of work.
    • Event management experience
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills
    • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
    • Experience and ability to positively interact with a diverse campus community.
    • Ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodations.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


    • Master’s degree
    • 3 or more years working experience in higher education or related non-profit fields of work.
    • Previous university event management experience


    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    Duties are generally performed inside and not exposed to adverse conditions.

    Flexible schedule with some nights and weekends.
