The AR Manager manages collection activities such as sending follow-up inquiries, negotiating with past due accounts, keeping track of cash receipts and referring accounts to collection agencies. Controls all activities in the accounts receivable function. Being an AR Manager creates financial reports relating to account receivable function and status of accounts. Ensures accurate receivable records and verifies outstanding account balances. In addition, AR Manager audits methods and procedures of accounts receivable function to improve efficiency. Requires a bachelor's degree of accounting or finance. Typically reports to a director. The AR Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes.     Schedule: Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 5:00pm; 1 hour unpaid lunch

    Competencies: The ideal candidate should be proficient in Excel and Word; have strong organization, math, and communication skills and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality; Knowledge of Netsmart is preferred

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage all AR team members and provides administrative guidance to staff. Ensures staff members remain competent to perform their job duties;
    • Manage AR to ensure timely reimbursement to the Agency;
    • Coordination of all billing as it relates to Medicaid, Medicare, Self-pay, and all third party insurance;
    • Prepare monthly financial billing analysis reports and General Ledger functions
    • Oversee all audits of the AR department to achieve excellent standards and maintain positive working relationships with all funding source representatives, auditors, and other representatives;
    • Maintain and monitor a system to ensure proper fiscal management in compliance with Agency and funding source regulations;
    • Comply with funding source rules;
    • Completes and submits Medicaid applications when necessary;
    • Others duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • Strong work ethic;

    • Minimum of three (3) years billing related experience;

    • Minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience;

    • Knowledge of Medicaid/Medicare billing procedures and regulations preferred.
