Job Description:
Cimarron is seeking a mid-level or senior-level Architect to support the Mobile Launcher 2 (ML2) program at the Cape Canaveral, FL. This position is supporting a 1-year contract.
This opportunity offers a competitive salary and the opportunity for additional cash-in-lieu of benefits.
Key Duties:
- Prepare original architectural design layouts, details, drawings, and specifications for buildings.
- Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of the architectural work.
- Understand and perform the standard architectural work planning, scheduling, and job hour estimating process.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with quality requirements.
- Review and check the work of other architects as assigned.
- As directed, supervise, coordinate, provide technical direction, and assign work to subordinate architects and designers.
- Coordinate and integrate design work between the architectural discipline and other engineering disciplines.
- Review and approve key design documents, supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, and change orders.
- Prepare procurement and subcontract requisition documents and perform associated technical bid evaluations with award recommendations.
- Prepare or assist in the preparation of cost estimates and quantity take-offs for architectural elements.
- Resolve technical issues with customers and construction.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

- Cimarron employees are required to follow federal, state, and local laws regarding COVID-19 practices, as well as customer requirements.
- Experience with architectural design, production techniques, building materials, and construction methods or development of project deliverables.
- Understand technical issues and costs related to the selection of design features and unique architectural requirements.
- Proficient with the practices and procedures of NFPA, OSHA, ANSI, IBC, and UFCs
- Experience performing code reviews and generating code compliance reports/drawings.
- Skilled in verbal and written communication.
- Ability to communicate complex technical issues and recommends solutions.
- Demonstrated graphic presentation skills.
- Understanding of engineering planning and control methods.
- Experienced with producing a full, well-coordinated, and detailed set of architectural construction documents.
- Experienced in coordinating a multi-disciplined design team.
- Proficient with Autodesk design suite (e.g. Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD) to originate 3D model content and produce design deliverables in a multidisciplinary model environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and Sketchup.
- Experienced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- High School diploma or equivalent and 15 or more years of experience, or Bachelor's degree in Architecture and 9 or more years of experience.
Additional Required Skills, Experience, and Education for Senior-Level:
- High School diploma or equivalent and 19 or more years of experience, or Bachelor's degree in Architecture and 13 or more years of experience.
Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Experience with developing CSI MasterFormat specifications or SpecsIntact.
- Knowledge of the principles of Systems Engineering.
- Ability to present technical subjects with competence and confidence.
- Experience in the design of DOD or DOE projects.
- LEED AP certified professional.
- Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited university.
