The incumbent in this position is responsible for the preservation, care and accessibility to archives in their custody using electronic means. Archives include official documents, documents of institutions, photographs, audio-visual material and any other information bearing media (for example, magnetic and optical computer media) that contains historical information that Seminole Media Production and the Seminole Tribe of Florida wishes to preserve.
The individual is responsible for record management (the control over documents which are still in the offices of origin), and the digitalization of archives for efficient recovering and the publishing and distribution of publications. Bachelor’s Degree in History or Library Science is required. Minimum of two (2) years of professional work experience with video assets and library asset management; utilizing digital reproduction technologies such as scanners and digital cameras used for preservation is required. Must be proficient in File Maker Pro and Adobe Photoshop. Comprehensive, hands-on experience in building an online library is preferred.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite a plus. Knowledge in digital reproduction technologies is required. Knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro software is preferred. Demonstrates excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to travel to all Reservations and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
