The mission of Lake Junaluska is to be a place of Christian hospitality where lives are transformed through renewal of soul, mind and body.
Located in the Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina, Lake Junaluska plays a vital role by providing a location for training and renewal.
Each year Lake Junaluska will host over 200,000 guests who are engaged in spiritual training, recreation or renewal events and activities.
Our guests include religious, non-profit and secular groups. We are also a residential and vacation community.
Oversee the collection, arrangement, description, preservation and maintenance of Lake Junaluska Assembly’s (LJA) archival holdings according to professionally accepted archival standards
Assist and supervise researchers using the archival collections
Instruct LJA administrative staff in the use of the archives and work with them to develop policies for staff access to the records
Work with LJA offices and related organizations to identify and obtain records for addition to the archives on an ongoing basis
Serve as a resource person for LJA staff and community
Knowledge of professionally accepted archival and basic records management standards.
Ability to initiate projects, handle multiple tasks, prioritize projects, and work independently.
Ability to train and work cooperatively with staff and volunteers
Written and oral communication skills

Computer skills, knowledge of word processing and basic spreadsheets
Familiar with Microsoft Office and Google Docs
Light physical activity performing non-strenuous activities with quiet to moderate noise

Standard Work Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday, averaging 20 hours per month.
