Art Director Assistant assists the Art Director with all phases of design projects to ensure successful project completion. Monitors work through all stages of pre-production and production and facilitates solutions to any issues that may arise. Being an Art Director Assistant reviews the work of videographers, photographers, designers, and graphic artists. Requires knowledge of typography, layout, color, and visual communication. Additionally, Art Director Assistant requires a bachelor's degree of art or design. Typically reports to Art Director. The Art Director Assistant gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Within the department, the Art Director develops creative concepts that align with creative strategies, marketing objectives, and marketing strategies, all while communicating the visual expression of the Publix brand. What you’ll do
develop relevant and unique concepts that support marketing business objectives, align with creative strategy, and strengthen the Publix brand
provide direction to creative resources that are contributing to the project development for photo and video assets used for a variety of customer-facing integrated communications, including but not limited to print, POP, social media, adaptive or responsive websites (desktop/mobile), mobile apps, email, digital ads, direct mail, videos, and other necessary content
direct Sr. Designers, Designers, and Motion Designers in the execution of design mechanicals and final files, ensuring final design delivers upon intended concept, meets strategy, is technically and aesthetically excellent
stay up to date on industry and market trends, including evolving technology
foster professional growth of fellow associates by providing mentoring and guidance
Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphics field or equivalent experience
at least four years of experience in graphic design
knowledge of concept development process and highly skilled in concepting a variety of advertising elements (social media ads, video, OOH, POP, direct mail, posters, packaging, environmental signage, etc.)
knowledge of traditional and digital media channels (e.g., print, in-store, video, pre-roll, radio, TV, social and digital, adaptive/responsive websites, apps, mobile sites), including best practices, strengths, and limitations
knowledge of art direction and design process
knowledge of Marketing department workflow processes and project lifecycles
knowledge of industry, market trends, and business objectives
knowledge of digital, printing, broadcast, and distribution processes (e.g., file preparation for digital channels and packaging for physical printing)
knowledge of the Publix target customer, brand, and lines of business
ability to evaluate creative work for effectiveness against established creative strategies and objectives
highly skilled in typography, layout, and composition
strategic thinker with passion for delivering great work and meaningful results
excellent presentation skills
computer skills including Mac OS, Adobe Creative Suite, Keynote and Microsoft Office
