Ion Art, Inc., an eclectic and artistic company specializing in architectural, sculptural, and custom signage fabrication, is currently seeking a Custom Painter. This position requires a positive, enthusiastic, ethical, and detail oriented individual who wants to be part of a well-established 36-year-old company.

Applicants Must:

• Have professional experience with spray painting in a spray booth, rolling, varnishing, enamelling, staining, or lacquering a variety of surfaces and materials such as aluminum, steel, acrylic, wood, HDU, etc.

• Inspect all projects coming into the Paint Department to ensure proper prep work is done before paint.

• Check finish sanding and perform any further sanding/prepping as necessary for pieces to be paint-ready.

• Have knowledge of using epoxy compounds, putty, or other suitable filling materials to fill breaks or cracks on surfaces to be painted.

• Have knowledge of sanding or removing previously applied paint.

• Have experience with paint masking to cover surfaces that will not be painted

• Make sure electrical products such as illuminated sign letters and cabinets are sealed for light leaks.

• Be able to mix paints by using the right proportions and colors.

• Be able to paint in a fast and efficient manner to meet deadlines

• Maintain the cleanliness of the work areas and the tools and equipment used

• Pay attention to details and take pride in quality work done well

• Be able to lift at least 50 lbs

• Be able to work after hours or weekends as needed
• Be flexible and willing to collaborate with a wide range of personalities

• Must be vaccinated from Covid-19

Extra Credit:

• Experience with the Matthews Paint System

• Experience in the sign industry

• Experience operating a forklift
