A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ART CENTER DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL
As an Art Center Direct Support Professional, you support people with developmental disabilities to live their best lives as independently as possible. Your support is needed in many areas, with a focus on teaching our clients to experience all types of art forms like dance, music, singing, theatre, painting, sculpting, etc. You also assist with behavior management and daily living activities.
Using effective teaching and mentoring techniques, you provide support for our clients with their day-to-day schedules. You are always careful to model appropriate social skills and behaviors. Conscientiously, you keep accurate and up-to-date documentation as well as promptly report any concerns about health or safety. You find it very rewarding to help these wonderful individuals, which is why you're perfect for this caregiving position with our human services organization!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN ART CENTER DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL
Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required. Are you friendly and able to build a rapport with people easily?
