Job Description: Art Teacher (Daytime Hours for Homeschool Classes)

The Atelier School of Art is seeking a dynamic and passionate Art Teacher to join our team. We are specifically looking for someone available to teach during daytime hours for our homeschool art classes. The Atelier School of Art focuses on fostering artistic excellence and a deep understanding of fundamental artistic principles.

Responsibilities:

Classroom Support: Assist the lead art teacher in preparing and organizing materials for art classes. Provide support during demonstrations and class instruction.
Assist students with hands-on activities, providing guidance and encouragement.

Student Engagement: Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the art studio.
Encourage and motivate students to explore their creativity and express themselves through art. Assist in managing student behavior and maintaining a respectful learning environment.

Material Preparation: Assist in the setup and cleanup of art materials and tools before and after each class. Ensure that art supplies are well-stocked and organized.

Collaboration: Collaborate with the lead art teacher to develop lesson plans and project ideas.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and upcoming events.

Demonstrations: Occasionally conduct small demonstrations to illustrate specific art techniques.

Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all safety protocols are followed in the art studio.
Monitor students to prevent accidents and address any safety concerns promptly.

Professional Development: Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on art education trends.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with students in an educational or art-focused setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for art and a commitment to fostering creativity in students.
• Knowledge of various art techniques and materials.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other members of the teaching staff.

Background Check:

• Successful candidates must undergo a comprehensive background check before assuming duties as an Assistant Art Teacher.
