The Boys & Girls Club of the Kenai Peninsula is currently seeking a Athletics assistant with a passion for sports!
Assistant Athletics Director Defined as: The Athletics Assistant supports and assists the Athletic Director and understands that practicing communication, maintaining assisting to produce quality programs and implementing new programs are a significant part of the job. The duties listed below including but not limited to being on-site for practices and games into the late evening and on weekends. May also provide support in other areas as assigned.
Primary Duties:
· Answering/returning athletics phone calls and answering questions in person.
· Take and process athletics registrations.
· On-site set up, supervision and clean up after practices and games.
· Referee games as needed.
· Prepare equipment and materials for distribution to coaches.
· Assist in seeking sponsorships as directed.
· Assist in advertising and marketing as directed.
· Assist in hiring, training and scheduling referees.
· Assist the administrative staff with other duties as assigned.
Expectations: Athletics Assistant will work closely with the Athletics Director and other BGCKP staff in a positive and professional manner and will work to ensure the success of the programs. They will understand that the Athletics Assistant is an ambassador for the Club and publicly represent themselves accordingly at all times.
Required Skills / Knowledge:
· High school diploma, or GED.
· Working knowledge of a variety of sports.
· Experience in sports and/or child development related field.
· Strong organizational skills.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and develop solutions with limited supervision.
· Interpersonal skills to building and maintain working relationships with a variety of people.
· Ability to handle stressful and volatile situations in a calm and professional manner.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
Physical requirements include but not limited to physical exertion such as lifting, stretching and bending in a school/Club setting and can include sitting and standing for long periods. Will include walking/guiding/escorting children to and from areas and field trips. Will require interaction with youth 5-18 and can be noisy at times. Must be able to lift 40 pounds. Ability to work and adapt to varied weather conditions. Must be able to perform First Aid/CPR on members on ground level. Must have adequate vision and hearing to safely monitor and respond to members, co-workers and outside community members.
