Assistant Campus Recreation Director administers and promotes all non-varsity, club (intramural) sports and wellness program. Plans and organizes campus-wide recreational programs for all students, faculty, and staff. Being an Assistant Campus Recreation Director may supervise student staff. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Assistant Campus Recreation Director typically reports to Campus Recreation Director. The Assistant Campus Recreation Director supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. - Ability to have a growth mindset.
- Ability to remain objective, calm and neutral in a variety of situations.
- Direct support and supervision of students in classroom and community settings.
- Assist teacher with the planning and implementation of instructional activities in classroom, community and employment settings.
- General professional skills, including a willingness to:
- Make student-centered decisions.
- Assume positive intentions when working with others.
- Adhere to federal, state and VBISD policies and procedures.
- Model VBISD guidelines: Respect, Integrity, Compassion and Excellence.
- Complete assigned responsibilities within agreed upon timelines.
- Perform additional tasks, responsibilities and duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education and the Superintendent.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds.
- Ability to transport students to community and employment settings throughout Van Buren County (using ISD vehicle).
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods as needed for student activities.
