Assistant Campus Recreation Director administers and promotes all non-varsity, club (intramural) sports and wellness program. Plans and organizes campus-wide recreational programs for all students, faculty, and staff. Being an Assistant Campus Recreation Director may supervise student staff. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Assistant Campus Recreation Director typically reports to Campus Recreation Director. The Assistant Campus Recreation Director supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. The Township of Edison is seeking an experienced, highly organized, innovative leader to serve as the Assistant Director of Recreation. Under the supervision of the Recreation Director, the Assistant Director is responsible for the development, implementation and promotion of activities, community events and coordination of sport/recreation associations within the Township. The Director will also be responsible for managing and maintaining recreation facilities, including allocating field time to the various organizations that use the facilities.
Candidate must be willing to work extended hours and irregular hours as required given the nature of the position (evenings and weekends).
Prior municipal recreation and/or experience desired.
Bachelor’s degree and recreation certifications is a plus or 3-5 years’ experience in recreation.
Salary dependent on experience.
