Assistant Campus Recreation Director administers and promotes all non-varsity, club (intramural) sports and wellness program. Plans and organizes campus-wide recreational programs for all students, faculty, and staff. Being an Assistant Campus Recreation Director may supervise student staff. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Assistant Campus Recreation Director typically reports to Campus Recreation Director. The Assistant Campus Recreation Director supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes.     Position Highlights

    • Plan individual and group programs in accordance with residents' needs, preferences, interests, abilities, and consistent with treatment goals and interventions.
    • Creates and updates monthly activity calendar.
    • Lead, guide and direct recreation staff and volunteers.
    • Drives the community van as needed to appointments and community outings.
    • Maintain required documentation; participate in budget planning.
    • Complete the Recreation department’s assessments and MDS sections in a timely fashion.
    • Create, monitor, and revise resident care plans.
    • Develop positive relationships with the resident's family and the community.
    • Use community resources to create or enhance recreation programs.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor degree in therapeutic recreation preferred or completion of NAAP/NCCAP Basic and Advanced Management Course for Activity Professionals.
    • Certification in accordance with regulatory agencies governing the center, by the National Certification Council of Activity Professionals (ADC) or the National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Certification (CTRS).
    • Two years' experience in a social or recreational program within the last 5 years, health care setting preferred.
