Assistant Campus Recreation Director administers and promotes all non-varsity, club (intramural) sports and wellness program. Plans and organizes campus-wide recreational programs for all students, faculty, and staff. Being an Assistant Campus Recreation Director may supervise student staff. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Assistant Campus Recreation Director typically reports to Campus Recreation Director. The Assistant Campus Recreation Director supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. Job Summary: This position oversees a portion of Bethesda neighborhoods (West & Memory Care) and gives close to Recreation Director experience. This position must have a passion for working with people with dementia and memory care. This position is responsible for ensuring the neighborhoods overseen are provided purposeful and meaningful activities and experiences that are personalized to improve quality of life for Bethesda’s residents. This position creates and implements the activity calendar and ensures all assessments, care plans, and other documentation is completed. This leadership position provides support, coaching, and direction to recreation team members; supports implementation of programming and strategic initiatives for the department; and plays a significant role in contributing to a positive culture for individuals to live and work.
Job Relationships:
Hours of Work: 80 hours per pay period; Monday through Friday, with flexibility to support on weekends/holidays as needed.
