Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Hockey Coach to join our team at Tahoe Prep Hockey Academy. We are committed to developing our student-athletes to their full potential for the purpose of attending college.
As a Hockey Coach, you will be responsible for training, development and mentoring of hockey players from 9th to 12th grades. This is a paid coaching position that offers an exciting opportunity to share your passion for the sport and help players reach their full potential.
Duties:
- Plan and conduct hockey training sessions, practices, and drills
- Teach fundamental skills such as skating, shooting, passing, and puck control
- Develop game strategies and tactics
- Provide individualized coaching and feedback to players
- Organize and supervise team practices, games, and tournaments
- Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline among players
- Ensure the safety of players during training sessions and games
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff members to create a positive learning environment
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Hockey Coach or player at a competitive level
- Strong knowledge of hockey rules, techniques, and strategies
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire players
- Experience working with students or athletes in an educational or coaching setting
- CPR/AED certification (preferred)
- USA Hockey certification (required)
- Additional experience in sports coaching any additional sports or physical education is a plus
