This role will report directly to the Corporate Controller in Fairlawn, Ohio, while working in partnership with the Plant Controller, as needed, located in Louisville, KY, the Company’s manufacturing facility. This position has high visibility within the organization with opportunities to interact and work closely with C-level executives and management to provide information to help make critical decisions about various financial aspects of the business.
Primary Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Timely and accurate monthly closing of the consolidated financial statements. Assist with management of all aspects of the general ledger
Enhance efficiency and automation of financial reporting and closings in partnership with the Controller, operations, and IT. Having a strong IT systems approach is a plus.
Perform reconciliations of monthly, quarterly and year-end account balances
Provide monthly, quarterly and year-end analyses and / or partner with Company personnel to complete, compile and perform such analyses
Coordinating and assisting with the budget process annually including updates monthly for actual results comparison and forecasting
Research accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles
Serve as a liaison to external auditors quarterly and annually. Establish and maintain internal controls
in accordance with J-SOX (Japanese Sarbanes-Oxley) requirements
Identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances in accounting information
Other duties as may be required.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry. Minimum 5 years of experience in public accounting serving the manufacturing industry will be considered
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA a plus
CPA Certification a plus
Strong working knowledge of all aspects of accounting including: general ledger, accounts payable,
accounts receivable, fixed assets, payroll, and so on
Experience in preparing consolidated financial statements
Experience with foreign currency translation a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective communication skills and works well with others
Must be able to work independently, at times, and with limited direction
Experience with at least one company that has revenue more than $100 million a plus
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products and ERP; System21 knowledge a plus
