Assistant Controller

Reports to VP-Controller, the Assistant Controller will be responsible for certain general accounting functions - Accounts Payable, Inventory Accounting, and Sales Audit, Internal Financial Reporting, Fixed Assets

Core Responsibilities:

• Oversee Accounts payable
• Oversee inventory/gross margin accounting
• Management of Fixed Assets function and staff
• Review of journal entries and reconciliations
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of internal financials and related management schedules
• Sign-off of work performed for quarterly review of accounts
• Assist with annual audit as necessary
• Assist other function areas with financial/operational analysis
• Preparation of ad hoc analysis as necessary at the direction of the Controller and CFO

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Minimum of 3 years retail industry and accounting experience
• Supervisory/Management experience preferred
• Strong research and analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively
• Strong Excel skills
• Public accounting, and I-Series computer experience a plus
