  • The role of the Assistant Branch Manager is primarily responsible for the overall operation of the teller department as well as providing support to other branch staff, including MSRs and the Branch Manager, as needed. The authority delegated to the Assistant Branch Manager is to manage the branch including staff and operations in a manner that produces above-average industry performance. The Assistant Branch Manager will direct their actions, staff, and operations to achieve directives of the ALM committee, annual budget projections, annual scorecard targets, and strategic objectives. The Assistant Branch Manager will not cause or allow any practice that is illegal, imprudent, or a violation of any state and/or federal laws. The Assistant Branch Manager is accountable for all actions of the staff under his or her direction. A Day in the Life of an Assistant Branch Manager INCLUDES: Assist the Branch Manager with the operations of the branch; assume duties of the Branch Manager in their absence. Provide assistance and direction to tellers and MSRs, as needed, and assist in solving complex account problems. Function as teller or MSR on an as-needed basis, filling in for peak coverage or shortages. Maintain an active cross-selling environment within the branch; monitor sales production and coach all branch employees to success to ensure referral and branch sales goals are met. Assist the Branch Manager with Business and SEG development.  Promote Pelican in the communities in which we serve. Maintain working knowledge of and comply with regulatory compliance related to member services and financial services area to include but not limited to BSA, OFAC, UAS Patriot Act, Red Flags, Regulation CC, Regulation D, Regulation E, Truth and Savings, Truth in Lending, Privacy, etc.   Assistant Branch Manager Skills and qualifications include: 2-year college degree in Business, Finance, or a related field. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of education. 3 years of experience in branch operations including a combination of lending, deposits, and teller duties. Excellent oral, written, and telephone communication skills. Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and member service skills. Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.   Other things you may want to know about this position: Work Schedule Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 5:30 pm Travel Travel is rarely necessary for this position.
