Seeking a responsible not-for-profit manager for a diversity of duties and the opportunity to serve the Southern New Jersey, Delaware and Philadelphia community. 1166FCU seeks a financial services professional to lead the Credit Union upon the retirement of the current Leadership. Collaborating with the Board of Directors, this individual will be responsible for developing and setting the direction and growth of the organization. Achieving these goals and objectives as outlined in our strategic plan are concurrent with maintaining the Credit Union’s financial health and stability.
The successful candidate should exhibit strong people and motivational skills, be a team builder, and help to guide this organizational change. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required. An advanced degree is considered a plus.
We are looking for a Credit Union Manager responsible for the specific duties listed below.
- The Credit Union Manager is responsible for the administration and efficient daily operation of a full-service Credit Union including all financial operations, client services, product sales, budgets, insurance coverage, and security and safety in accordance with the Credit Union’s objectives.
- Communicates goals to the Members of the Board and the staff regarding the overall profitability of the Credit Union; implements costs controls, income generation, and Credit Union marketing efforts; monitors expenses to ensure compliance with budget.
- Makes certain all legal obligations of the credit union are met, including but not limited to, payment of all taxes, maintenance of sufficient liability insurance of all risk exposures, current and timely filing of all required reports to supervisory agencies, compliance with state and federal labor laws, and operating within legal boundaries granted by the charter and the Federal Credit Union Act.
- Ensures compliance within all Credit Union policies and procedures, as well as all applicable government regulations.
- Hires and develops quality staff ensuring proper skills and staffing levels to ensure the highest level of customer service.
- Partner with the appropriate staff in the completion of monthly Certification packages, and review for completeness prior to submission
- Accountable for the Credit Union performance on audits and compliance with established bank operating procedures and practices.
- Enforces superior customer service through example along with periodic meetings and presentations on this topic. Manages the Credit Union mystery shops and provides coaching to accomplish the Credit Union goal
- Develop and execute sales strategies, relationship building and community strategies that are aligned with the Credit Union's goals. Strategies may include but are not limited to outbound in person meetings, business networking and participation in Credit Union and community events

- Prior experience in finances and financial systems
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and proven track record

- Conducts self in a professional manner consistent with the overall credit union’s image, values, and mission statement, treating members, colleagues, subordinates, and Board members with the utmost respect.
- Continuously appraises the regulatory environment and anticipates changes in the economy and technologies that may affect money management.
- Maintains relationships with other credit unions, corporate credit unions, and trade associations
- Maintains community contacts and relationships with representatives of such groups as are necessary, desirable, or in the best interest of the credit union as a responsible member of the community, and other activities that will further the credit union movement.
- A collaborative, analytical and creative problem-solver with ability to multi-task
- Passionate about a Financial Services Support mission to redefine standards, and deeply believe that the world benefits from more products that cater to an underserved audience
- Experience in development and media relations is a plus

- Expected to manage 2 or more Credit Union employees

Salary Range: $75,000 - $100,000 (commensurate on experience)
