Assist the Director of Nursing Services in planning, organizing, developing and directing the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards governing the facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator and Director of Nursing, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
Must be a Registered Nurse in good standing and currently licensed by the state.
Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care facility or other healthcare related facility required.
Must be knowledgeable of general, rehabilitative and restorative nursing and medical practices and procedures and laws, regulation and guidelines governing long-term care.
Essential job functions include but not limited to:
Administrative - directing day-to-day functions of Nursing Department.
Nursing Care - interview and screen residents for admission, accurate nursing documentation.
Personnel - assist in recruiting, hiring, orientating, disciplining and terminating nursing personnel.
Quality Assurance and Assessment - complete and assign required quality control checklists.
Resident's Rights - maintain resident confidentiality and privacy.
Safety and Sanitation - assist in developing, implementing and maintaining safety standards.
Care Plan and Assessment - participate in developing and updating assessments and care plans.
