  • Summary: The Career Services Specialist works primarily to ensure positive employment outcomes for American Institute graduates. The Career Services Specialist works to dynamically support the individual career goals of each student who completes his/her program of study, through efficient professional development tools, proactive relationships with the employers’ community, and constant awareness of current industry trends.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

    • Assisting the Director of Career Services in meeting placement objectives in order to secure campus compliance with American Institute, State, and accreditation benchmarks relating to placement.
    • Responsible for reporting weekly placement outcomes and activity to Director
    • Ensuring personal weekly placement goals are met.
    • Developing job orders from employer’s contacts, sending graduates resumes, assisting in scheduling interviews, and diligently following-up with employers and graduates.
    • Meeting with students one-on-one to determine job interests and complete required externship & graduation paperwork.
    • Responsible for maintaining data integrity and collection of placement verification forms.
    • Utilizing database to document student and graduate records. Graduate employment verification and waiver/exemption information must be documented and verified.
    • Teaching professional development workshops including but not limited to resume writing, interviewing skills, and career readiness.
    • Distributing and collecting graduate and employer satisfaction surveys.
    • Maintaining graduates’ files and database.
    • Organize job fairs on-campus, attend outside job fairs, invite employers to speak in classrooms, and help arrange on-campus interviews.
    • Assist with the procurement of externship sites and networking.
    • Weekly field visits to prospective/current employers and externship sites in order to build and maintain professional relationships.
    • Responsible for assisting Director with planning and organizing of annual Advisory Board Meetings.
    • Attendance of Career Services conventions, webinars and meetings.
    • Attend and Present at Student Orientations, available for student inquiries regarding Career Services during prospective student tours.
    • Provide graduates with assistance in applying for required licensure and certifications
    • Maintaining student files, cohort placement binders & seminar binders etc.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
