As a Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the culinary operations of our non-profit cafe and ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and service. Accountability:
- Plan and execute menus, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain consistency and quality
- Manage kitchen staff; pastry chef, line cook, dish washers to include training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
- Collaborate with the cafe manager to develop weekly menu specials
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and timely delivery of meals
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and techniques to continuously improve culinary offerings
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Chef or similar role in a high-demand food service
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations
- Excellent culinary skills with the ability to create and produce delicious dishes
- Proficient in restaurant management software and systems
- Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
