    Position Summary:

    The Assistant Director of Student Activities assists with an array of services to promote student activities, supervises, and manages the operation of various functions of Holistic Student Support Services. Included but not limited to: Food pantry, clothing closet, addressing directly or indirectly student barriers to access and student success on and off campus; supervises and provides coverage and support for the Wellness Center and Fitness Center.

    Example of Job Duties:

    Under the direction of the Director of Student Activities or another administrator, the Assistant Director of Student Activitiesis accountable for these duties througheffective performance in these essential functional areas:

    • Program planning and development
    • Service Delivery
    • Fiscal Management
    • Staff Development and supervision

    In addition to the accountabilities listed above, the incumbent is required to carry out the essential duties of: Attendance and participation at convocation and commencement ceremonies; Service on assigned committees and task forces; Attendance and participation at committee, staff, informational and professional meetings. These may involve attendance at evening or weekend events.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in an appropriately related field together with up to three (3) years of related experience; or a combination of education, training and experience which would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position’s essential duties

    Incumbents are required to have demonstrated advanced knowledge and abilities in the following:

    • Student Activities including recreational activities and those oriented toward providing for enhancement of students' cultural leadership experience

    Candidates must possess proven ability to effectively work with culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students. They are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skillsalong with strongInformation technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.).

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master’s Degree in Higher Education, counseling, social work, or a related field
    • Background knowledge in health and wellness

    Starting Salary:

    Minimum Salary; $54,141 approximate annualplus excellent State of CT medical insurance, retirement, and related fringe benefits.The salary will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications such as education and job-related experience, and internal equity.
