Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Activity Assistant to join our team. As an Activity Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by planning and implementing engaging activities. This position is perfect for individuals who have a passion for working with seniors and creating a positive and stimulating environment.
Duties:
- Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of activities for residents in assisted living and memory care settings
- Engage residents in social, recreational, and therapeutic activities to promote physical and mental well-being
- Provide one-on-one support to residents who may require additional assistance during activities
- Collaborate with the activities director to develop monthly activity calendars
- Assist with the setup and cleanup of activity areas
- Document resident participation and behavior during activities
- Escort residents to and from activities as needed
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff members
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in senior care or related field preferred
- Knowledge of aging issues and counseling techniques is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to manage schedules and prioritize tasks effectively
- Basic understanding of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Ability to work well in a team environment
